subject [1.2] What is domain abuse and how does Registrar.MK handle it?

Due to ICANN, there are 4 security threats

Phishing is a domain name that supports cybercrime in which a target is contacted by email, telephone or text message by someone posing as a legitimate institution to lure individuals into providing sensitive data such as payment card details and password. The information is then used to access accounts and can result in identity theft and financial loss.

Malware is a domain name that facilitates the spread of any intrusive software developed by cybercriminals to steal data and damage or destroy computers and computer systems.

Botnet command-and-control is domain names used to identify hosts that control botnets, collections of malware-infected computers. These can be used to perpetrate different abusive activities

Spam is domains that are used in sending unsolicited bulk email, where sometimes the goal is fraud.

If you have a complaint, please send it to [email protected]

We will handle the case internally and usually we only inform the Registrant, but we might take other actions as well.

Recommended is to first and foremost inform the responsible hosting provider of any abuse issue.

subject [1.3] What is the validation process of Registrar.MK?

Due to Registry policy and ICANN registrant rights, the registrant contact details should be up to date and correct.

Registrar.MK may attempt to validate the name of the registrant, through a number of third party data sources prior or after the domain registration or trade request.

A correctly completed domain name register entry will look like this:

Registrant’s Name [if individual]

Registrant’s Company Name [if company]

Registrant's Company ID number [if company]

Street Address

Town/City

Postcode

Country

Email

Phone

The fact that Registrar.MK cannot validate data does not necessarily mean the data is incorrect.

We recognise that validation processes can only be accurate up to a certain confidence level.

However, failure to provide correct information that it is possible to validate may result in the domain name being suspended or the trade canceled.

If you want to inform us of a domain with incorrect contact details please send an email to [email protected]
